Christian Mother's Day Crafts for Kids
In many Christian churches, mothers are asked to stand at the end of the Sunday services on Mother's Day to receive a blessing from the congregation. Anyone working in a Christian children's ministry may wish to help the children of these mothers create a meaningful, spiritually-focused Mother's Day craft gift.

Mother's Day Doily Craft
-
To make this craft, featured on the Danielle's Place website, first help each child draw a circle that measures 6 1/4 inches in diameter on a piece of computer paper, and then allow the children to decorate those circles. A short poem or bible verse should be written neatly in the center of the circle, such as Proverbs 1:8-9. When the words are in place, draw flowers, hearts, butterflies or anything else likely to delight the child's mother as a border around the poem or Bible verse. Older children may wish to glue pressed flowers onto the paper circle. When the circle has been decorated, glue it in the center of a paper doily, which can be purchased in a pack at a craft store, and glue the doily to a sheet of construction paper. If desired, write a personal note on the back of the construction paper in place of a Mother's Day card.
"A Fragnant Offering" Craft
-
Ephesians 5:1-2 discusses how Christ offered himself as a "fragrant offering and sacrifice to God." As part of a lesson that Christians are called to imitate Christ, engage children in this Mother's Day craft, featured on the Ministry to Children website. This craft project will remind children to be "fragrant offerings" to their mothers by treating their mothers well and being helpful to them. Instruct each child to color a large craft stick---the stem of the flower---green. Then, help children write the words "fragrant offering" along the stick in black. Glue a yellow construction paper circle---the center of the flower---to one end of the craft stick. Then, cut five teardrop-shaped petals from construction paper. After writing one promise of how each child can be a "fragrant offering" to his or her mother on each petal, glue the petals around the edge of the yellow circle. Finally, cut out two green construction paper leaves and glue them to the craft stick.

Paper Hearts Bouquet Craft
-
Add Bible verses to this craft idea, featured on the Celebrations website, to make a touching Mother's Day craft. Cut out three or five paper hearts of the same size from construction paper. Arrange the hearts so that they overlap on the bottom, at the pointed end of each heart, and fan them out slightly so they resemble a bouquet of flowers. Punch a hole in the bottom of each heart and thread floral wire through the holes, twisting it to hold the paper hearts in place. In the center of each flower heart, write a Bible verse or touching poem about mothers. As a finishing touch, embellish the hearts with beads, buttons, sequins, dried flower petals or other decorations. Tie a ribbon around the bouquet before presenting it as a Mother's Day gift.
