Many conservative colleges offer opportunities for worship on campus.

People with an eye for design and a passion for physics may find a career in engineering to be rewarding. Aircraft, roadways and medical devices are among the types of designs created by engineers. A variety of schools in the United States offer academic degrees in engineering, including some conservative colleges and universities. Conservative schools typically foster a religious environment in addition to offering an academic education.

  1. Liberty University

    • Liberty is a large Christian university in central Virginia. The four-year institution was founded in 1971 and offers over 60 academic programs, among them four in engineering.

      The School of Engineering and Computational Sciences has three undergraduate majors in engineering: electrical engineering, industrial engineering and computer engineering. Students in the electrical engineering major may also elect to complete a minor in the skills needed to work in the intelligence community.

    Harding University

    • Harding is a private Christian university in eastern Arkansas. The four-year institution awards both undergraduate and graduate degrees. The university's Department of Engineering and Physics has bachelor's degree programs in computer engineering, mechanical engineering and electrical engineering. All of the programs can be completed on four- or five-year schedules.

    The Catholic University of America

    • The Catholic University of America is a private university in Washington, D.C. The four-year school is the official university of the Catholic Church in the United States and was founded by U.S. bishops. Students can earn undergraduate and graduate degrees in one of 12 schools, including engineering.

      Departments in the School of Engineering include civil engineering, biomedical engineering and engineering management. The school's master of science program in engineering has five concentrations, including civil engineering and biomedical engineering.
