      • CAI Medical Transcription is an independent transcription training company located along New Jersey's coast in Barnegat. CAI offers transcription training in an online program. For those without Internet access, CAI offers an alternate CD/book program. This program consists of 300 hours of training, 100 hours of book work and 200 hours of hands-on training. It takes 6 to 9 months to complete the program. Some of the concepts taught in this program include basic word structure, disease processes, grammar and style, laboratory values and terms pertaining to the body. Graduates will be awarded a certificate of completion after taking a final exam. After passing the final exam, graduates will be given certification, letters of recommendation and references for job placement testing with national companies.
