Puerto Rico is home to a variety of different styles of martial arts for almost any price range. Study Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, mixed martial arts, Jeet Kune Do, street self-defense, Aikido, Hapkido, Krav Maga and almost every other fighting art you wish at a dojo in your area. World famous instructors teach workshops, private lessons and daily and weekly classes at dojos all over the Puerto Rican islands.       Study sports and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) with Carlos Reyes on Isla Verde, Puerto Rico. Reyes offers over 20 years of martial arts experience and training in the Moo-Duk-Kwon art from Korea, close combat techniques, combat hapkido and taekwondo. Reyes is a current student of BJJ master and co-founder Rilion Gracie. The center conducts seminars, private classes and women-only self-defense workshops.       The Nieves Ryu Ninjutsu Dojo provides training in modern ninjutsu, drawing from all current and past martial arts styles to create a syncretic system of self-defense applicable to real-life situations. Rafael Kaisho Shihan Nieves founded the system and school in 1989. Kaisho incorporates martial arts styles including tactical combat, taekwondo, Wing Chun Kung Fu, Shorinji Kenpo and jiujitsu into a fusion of effective techniques for ninja training. Costs for training are $25 per person for workshops and $5 per class for group lessons as of July 2010. Contact the school for current price packages.

      Study American Kenpo Karate in Puerto Rico with Luis Gines, protege of Grand Master Edmund Parker. Parker designed the American Kenpo Karate style and founded the Kenpo studio in Toa Baja, Puerto Rico. The school offers a nine-belt system that progresses from a yellow belt to a 1st degree black belt. Classes are available for children from 4 to 12 years old and youngsters and adults 13 and older. Registration for the school costs $30 and the monthly fee for two classes per week is $40. Prices are current as of July 2010.
