Fingerprint Paper Plate Turkey
-
A plain white paper plate can be used for turkey craft projects. This paper plate turkey craft is easy for small children but can also be made more elaborate by older children. The feathers of the turkey are drawn on the paper plate. Have each child start in the center of the plate and draw straight lines out to the edges in various fall colors. Each child should cut out a turkey body, head, beak, eyes and waddle and glue them on the bottom edge of the paper plate. Give each child finger paint and have them dip their finger into the paint and press it onto the feathers to make them appear more full and feathery.
Double Paper Plate Turkey
-
This project will teach small children how to cut and paste. Each child needs two sturdy paper plates, one small and one large. The smaller paper plate is the head of the turkey and the larger one is the body. The first step is to cut out turkey feathers from colored construction paper and glue them to the back of the large plate. Then glue the small plate on top of the large towards the top edge for the head. Decorate the small plate with googly eyes, a beak and a waddle. Glue on some feet and wings to the larger plate. Add a small ribbon loop on the head to hang the project.

Paper Plate Turkey Place Settings
-
This craft makes a great centerpiece or place settings for your Thanksgiving table. Making this project is a little more complicated than most turkey paper plate projects, but it is suitable for children eight and up. Each child needs two white paper plates in the dinner size. The body is formed by making a cone from one of the paper plates and trimming off the bottom edge so it can stand up. The cone is the body and the head. Each plate should be painted brown or tan, including the body. The tail feathers are made of the remaining plate cut in half. Decorate the tail feathers with marker, beads, sequins, or paint. Glue the tail feathers on the back of the cone. Fold the pointed top of the cone down so it looks like the turkey beak. Glue on eyes and a waddle.
