Cowboy Theme
-
A cowboy theme is very versatile because this room grows with your child. Toddlers and boys up to the age of 10 still love Western themes. Choose a cowboy theme if you want nursery decor that will last for years to come. You can also incorporate a cowboy theme with Toy Story characters like Woody the cowboy. Paint all the walls beige and leave the ceiling white. Buy plastic silver sheriff stars online or at the craft store. Use thick double side strong hold adhesive tape to create a star border around the top of the room. You can also paint cowboys or other Western themes around the border of the room.
Buy dark wooden furniture and hang up framed photos of Western pictures on the walls. You can choose old black-and-white photos from Western cartoons or pick something more colorful. Install a coat hanger on the door and hang up a kid-size cowboy hat. Bring in other Western decor such as a rocking horse and miniature Western town toys. Buy Western-themed bedding to complement the room decor.
Lime Green Theme
-
Paint the walls lime green and leave the ceiling white. Install white crown molding along the top border of the nursery. Choose a dark cherry wood crib and other furniture to contrast with the colors on the walls. Buy general boy toys such as blocks and teddy bears and display these on white shelves in the room. You can also bring in a cherry wood table and chair set. Hang up framed pictures of characters or pictures of your baby.

Blue Nursery
-
Paint one accent wall dark blue and all the other walls in the room baby blue. Leave the ceiling white and install white crown molding along the top of the room. Hang up three black-and-white photos of your baby on the main blue wall. Choose one large 12 inch x 12 inch framed photo to go in the center of the wall. Then place two smaller framed photos on each side of the large photo. Space each frame about 2 inches apart and ensure that the two smaller frames are level with the top of the frames positioned slightly under the top of the middle frame. Basically the middle framed photo is your main focal point and this picture is positioned higher than other two photos on each side.
Choose a white crib and nursery furniture to contrast against the baby blue walls. Find baby blue crib bedding and add other decor items such as baby toys and trucks in the room.
