Frisbee, or disc golf, is a unique game that follows the basic scoring rules of golf but involves throwing flying discs of different weights and sizes down open expanses of grass to targets, which are represented by metal baskets with chains hanging off of them. This is a popular sport in areas with a lot of green space and nature, like Denver, Colorado.
Badlands
-
Badlands disc golf course is located in Federal Heights, which is in the suburbs of Denver, Colorado in the Hyland Hills Parks and Recreation District. There are 18 holes and the teen boxes, which are the area where the discs are initially driven, or thrown, from on the first drive of each hole. Cement gives you more stability to throw the disc as far as you possibly can. Throughout the Badlands course there are a number of different hazards, ranging from trees, marshes, creeks and a large pond that runs beside a few holes. There are also three targets per hole, which allows disc golfers who want easier or more challenging targets to choose them.

Memorial Park
-
Just west of Denver off of I-70 is Memorial Park's disc golf course, which is considered the "granddaddy" of Denver area disc golf courses, as it is not only the oldest but also one of the hardest courses in the area. The holes are quite tight and require a large amount of accuracy in each throw, as there numerous trees on the sides of each hole and a creek which holes criss-cross regularly. On the upside, the course is very flat. It has 18 holes total and is spread out over a large area, making it a beautiful walk, regardless of how well you play.

Ken Caryl Ranch
-
Ken Caryl Ranch is located in the suburb of Littleton, Colorado just outside of Denver off of the C-470 near the continental divide. This course is only nine holes and is referred to locally as "the postage stamp" due to it's incredibly small size. However, it is a great place for serious disc golfers to work on their short game. Tee boxes are small and asphalt and holes are relatively short with few hazards to inhibit golfer's throws. This course is surrounded by a suburban neighborhood.
