New Jersey Restaurants Open for Easter


New Jersey offers visitors and residents 24 historic sites, 36 state parks, boardwalks and numerous casinos to enjoy. If you live in New Jersey or are traveling to the state over Easter, several restaurants are open on Easter Sunday. Opting to celebrate your Easter at a restaurant takes the menu planning, meal preparation and cleanup responsibilities out of your hands. Whether you're dining out for Easter as a couple or are bringing the entire family, discover New Jersey's restaurants open for Easter.

Amanda's Restaurant

  • Named after the granddaughter of the original restaurant owners, Amanda's Restaurant offers an Easter brunch in a upscale setting. The Hoboken, N.J., restaurant serves Easter brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The brunch is served buffet-style and includes entrees such as mushroom and goat cheese salad, smoked salmon and grilled hanger steak, as well as traditional breakfast items including waffles, sausages and a create-your-own omelet station. As of July 2010, adults can enjoy the brunch for $29.50 and children under 12 can eat for $16.50. Adults can indulge in a mimosa or a bloody Mary with their meal; one alcoholic drink is included in the price of an adult brunch. Each table receives a bread basket and free parking is available. Reservations are not accepted.

Grain House Restaurant

  • Located in Basking Ridge, N.J., the Grain House Restaurant sits on the same estate as the Olde Mill Inn Bed and Breakfast and offers dining in a historic, colonial setting. The restaurant serves an Easter brunch buffet from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The Easter brunch menu is the same as the restaurant's regular Sunday brunch held throughout the year. Bagels, muffins, poached eggs benedict, omelets, veal blanquette and a meat carving station are just some of the highlights. For dessert, New York cheesecake, hazelnut mousse and apple strudel are just some of the temptations at the dessert station. Although the restaurant's brunch menu doesn't change for Easter, the Grain House Restaurant decorates the dining room in Easter decor and children under 12 receive a plastic Easter egg with a prize inside. Reservations are recommended but not required.

The Brothers Moon

  • Located in Hopewell, N.J., the Brothers Moon serves a health-conscious and vegan Easter brunch menu, with a handful of traditional breakfast items. The Easter brunch menu is served a la carte style, and is available from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Appetizer choices include pea puree soap, Caesar salad and muffins. For your main course, selections include quiche, roasted salmon, buttermilk pancakes and a variety of sandwiches and paninis. Two dessert selections are available during Easter brunch: carrot cake and lemon cheesecake. The Brothers Moon serves each adult customer one glass of complimentary champagne during the meal. Reservations are recommended but not required. The Brothers Moon begins taking Easter brunch reservations on February 1.
