Microsoft Expression Web 2 Features
Microsoft Expression Web is a dynamic WYSIWYG (What You See is What You Get) website design program. The successor to the Microsoft FrontPage series, Expression Web takes WYSIWYG design to a more polished and professional level, while at the same time maintaining usability.

Professional Design Environment
-
Microsoft Expression Web 2 features an intelligent, intuitive layout that allows users to quickly access the information they need. The interface provides task panes and menus surrounding your workspace, allowing you to locate files and edit easily, instead of having to navigate to the menu bar. The panes consist of page views, folders and tools so you can drag and drop from anywhere to anywhere on your workspace.
Supported Formats and Split Screen
-
Expression Web 2 allows you to create websites in XHTML, CSS, XML and XSLT. Advanced browser rendering provides you with a more accurate preview of what your website will look like. It also allows you to create a horizontal split-screen effect, placing your code window on one half of the screen, and a preview of your rendered site on the bottom. This way you can quickly edit your code while at the same time viewing the output of your commands.
Advanced Media Options
-
Users can change the properties of Flash media files and preview the videos in the workspace without having to open a browser. Expression Web 2 is also Adobe Photoshop friendly and allows users to create GIF, JPEG and PNG pictures from a Photoshop PSD file and add them to their website. If you make changes to the original PSD image, you can update the picture on your site by simply right clicking it.
Supported Files and Templates
-
Expression Web 2 offers a variety of templates for both professional and personal website design. The program also features templates for CSS designs as well as other extensions like ASP.NET. You can import old websites from FrontPage and open FTP, HTTP or WebDAV extensions. In addition, as of July 2010, users can still download Expression Web 2 templates from the Microsoft website.
