Legit Assembly Jobs

When trying to find a way to earn an income from home, many individuals find themselves running into scam after scam. One of the most popular scams is the ability to assemble crafts at home. Assembling products while sitting on the couch watching TV sounds appealing to many, and can lead to losing money if the right company isn't chosen. Legitimate opportunities do exist; it just takes research and time to find one.

New England Crafters

  • New England Crafters originated in 1983 and expanded into home craft assembly in 1992 after expanding into the wholesale market. The company offers over 25 products to choose from, with 13 products requiring no sewing. To begin with New England Crafters, prospective assembly workers must first purchase a starter kit with the materials to produce three samples. Once the samples have been created and approved, workers may begin working on projects at their own pace. After the first 250 pieces are submitted and approved, the initial costs for the starter kit is refunded. As of 2010, starter kits are $49.95 plus shipping and handling. Depending on the project chosen, an individual can expect to earn $50 to $450 per shipment.

EZ Bookmarks

  • EZ Bookmarks offers the opportunity to assemble bookmarks from home and has been in business since 1998. In order to begin working for EZ Bookmarks, an individual must purchase a starter kit and pay a registration fee that total $33.95. After submitting 35 bookmarks, an individual is paid $132.50 per unit, which include a reimbursement for supplies and shipping. The company will accept up to three units at a time and offers the ability to purchase supplies directly from the company or at a local craft store. After the third unit is accepted, registration fees are refunded. In addition, EZ Bookmarks offers a 30-day trial period, after which they will refund all fees for those who choose not to continue the program and return their starter kit.

Disciples Cross

  • Disciples Cross was founded in the early 1990s and allows workers to either sell their products back to the company or to sell them at bookstores and craft fairs. To begin working with Disciples Cross, a starter kit must be purchased for $69.95. The kit contains an instructional DVD, along with the materials to make 25 crosses. After the first eight units have been accepted, the costs for the starter kit will be refunded. In addition, the company offers a 30-day money back guarantee. As of 2010, Disciples Cross accepts a total of 400 completed crosses per person, with potential earnings of $500 per week.
