Reviews

  • The review process for a program officer includes review of submitted proposals, budgets and grant reports. A program officer also reviews and approves the final evaluation plan for funding of a program.

Preparations

  • As a program officer, you'll prepare the presentation for funding recommendations. You'll also prepare program monitoring methods for special projects, and negotiations for specific objectives to be placed in grant contracts. Other duties include preparing assigned program areas related to current issues and future goals.

Administrative

  • In addition to the review and preparation responsibilities, program officers must perform administrative duties. These include database management, website maintenance and newsletter development. You will also create award notification letters for individual programs, handle general correspondence, and compile and analyze data.
