Spider-man has been a favorite character of children and even adults for a very long time. Many fun painting activities can be done using this iconic hero. These activities are fun and easy, and can be used for birthday parties, class art projects, or craft time. Create your favorite comic book hero!

  1. Face painting

    • With face paint, it is easy to become your favorite hero! Make sure you use quality face paint, which can easily be found around the Halloween season and also some craft and art supply stores. Start with the eyes. Make sure the child has their eyes closed. Paint white Spider-man eyes around their actual eyes. Then with red paint, paint the rest of the face. With black face paint, paint the web pattern as shown. It's that easy.

    Paper plate masks

    • Paint your paper plate red. Let paint dry. Draw out the eye holes. Make them fairly large, so that the child's eyes will actually be able to see out of the mask. Start cutting with regular scissors, then the child can finish the cut with safety scissors. With a thick, black marker, draw the web pattern over the red paint. Take a hole punch and punch out one hole on one side of the mask and then punch a hole on the other side. Take a piece of yarn and tie it to one end. Take another piece of yarn and tie it to the other side. Tie them together fitted to the child's head. You now have a Spider-man mask.

    Paper Bag Puppets

    • Take a brown lunch bag and turn it upside down. Stick your hand in the bag and make a "puppet" by moving the bottom of the bag like a mouth. This will be your puppet base. On a separate piece of paper, paint a red oval, leaving two white spaces in the shape of Spider-man's eyes. Once the paint is dry, you can use either black paint or thick black marker to draw the web pattern. When painting is completely dry, cut out the head and glue it onto the bottom of the brown paper bag. Once glue is dry, you now have a Spider-man puppet!

    Pet Rock Spider-man Head

    • Find a smooth oval stone to paint. Paint it red. Let paint dry. With white paint, paint Spider-man eyes. With black paint, paint the web pattern on the rock. You now have a pet Spider-man rock!

    4 Finger Hand Painting

    • With washable finger paints, layout a good amount of red paint on a paper plate. Palms down, but with your thumb up and out of the way, press into the paint. All four fingers will be used. Try to create an even coat. Now stamp your hand onto your art surface. Wash your hand. Let the red paint dry. With blue paint, take your index finger and coat the underside evenly. Apply blue paint on top of the outer red fingerprints. These will be Spider-man's legs. With white paint, take the tip of your finger and create eyes just above the inner two fingerprints, which will be his arms. Once all the paint is dry, draw the shape of the head where the eyes are, then draw in the spider web pattern of the suit.
