Sheffield City College is one of more than a hundred centers offering a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) and Vocationally Related Qualification (VRQ) in dental nursing. The NVQ is a work-based assessed qualification designed to "develop and practice the skills required for employment and/or career progression in the Dental sector," according to the National Examining Board for Dental Nurses, while the VRQ is a theoretical assessment.
