If you are getting a tattoo that you don't want visible all the time, the pelvis is the place for it.

The pelvis is a good place for a tattoo if you don't relish the thought of everyone looking at it all the time. With the exception of beaches and private moments, your pelvis is rarely visible to other people. Consider two things when getting a pelvic tattoo: This is a very sensitive area of the anatomy, and it will probably hurt. If you are under age 25, you probably don't believe that your stomach and pelvic area will ever sag. Give some serious thought to what your tattoo will look like when you are 50, before you have it done.

Garlands

Garlands of tattooed flowers draped around the hips seem to be popular among tattooed women. When done by a talented artist, they can be quite beautiful. As with any tattoo, do your homework and take as long as you need to to decide on the right design. You can add some meaning to flower tattoos by learning about the history and symbolism of various flowers and working them into your design. Garlands can be subtle and only a few inches long, or outrageous creations that circle the entire pelvis.

Tribal Designs

The bold minimalist black of a tribal design can give a very dramatic look to a pelvis. For the deep blacks of this style, it is particularly important that you hire a professional, high-quality artist. Second-rate tribal designs will end up looking bluish, faded, and blurry, and you are guaranteed to regret it long after the lower price has been forgotten. Humorous Tattoos

If you want a tattoo for cheap laughs, the pelvic area is certainly the place for it, although the joke might wear thin after 10 or 20 years. Ideas include a stick figure pushing a lawnmower through your pubic hair, with the appropriate patch shaved off. A man could get a tattoo of a small figure of a man strategically placed on the lower stomach so that he shares your genitalia, which will look huge on him. Bottoms, of course, are a blank slate for hilarious graffiti such as “Made in America,” “Property of [whoever],” or a bar code. It should be stressed yet again, though, that chances are pretty good you won't find it so funny when you're 50.
