Medical Doctors
-
Medical doctors enter specialties in order to pursue careers as cardiologists, rheumatologists, neurologists, orthopedic doctors, endocrinologists and gynecologists. Oncology is an open field for specialists who desire to specialize in urology, colon, breast, ovarian and skin cancer, among others. Primary care physicians are in high demand as more and more prospective doctors choose specialty fields.
Nursing
-
Nurses are licensed caregivers and are expected to have a Bachelor of Science in nursing. More advanced degrees, such as a master's in science, are becoming favored over the more basic certifications and degrees, such as a license in vocational nursing. Nurses often work in hospitals in specialized fields such as med-surg, orthopedics, cardiology, gynecology, urology, and oncology. Each specialty requires a different skill set in the hospital setting.
