Creighton has the China Honors Immersion Program (CHIP) which allows students to gain practice experience working in facilities in China through an exchange program. A similar program is offered in conjunction with the Institute for Latin American Concern (ILAC). The University of Toledo (UT) offers master's and doctoral degrees in occupational therapy. The program includes a four-course research sequence to encourage students to undertake research in an area relevant to practice. Specialization areas include pediatrics, gerontology, hand therapy, community-based practice, management, advocacy and education. Grand Valley State University

Grand Valley State University (GVSU) has a 97 percent pass rate for first-time test takers on the National Board Certified Occupational Therapist (NBCOT) exam, the highest pass rate in the state of Michigan.
