Examples of Letterhead Designs
A quality letterhead, combined with business cards, envelopes and other stationery, can be one of the most important means of branding your company. By consistently using the same color, logo and taglines on every piece of communication from you company, you establish a name and image for yourself that will stick in consumers’ minds. There are some basic ideas that you can use and customize to create your own letterhead.
-
Geometric
-
A very easy idea for your letterhead is to use a familiar color from your website or logo, and create a geometric shape at the top of your page. For instance, use the exact same color of blue that is featured in your logo, and make a large rectangle that spans the top of the page. Insert your logo in the left hand corner, and your company name and contact information in the other corner of the page. It is a simple, modern look that will be remembered.
Simple
-
A very simple letterhead using your logo and company name can be just as effective as a complicated graphic design. Place your logo in the top left or right corner of the page, and add your company contact information in the opposing corner. Use a simple, black or dark colored font for the text.
-
Elegant
-
If you are a company that wants to communicate class, use an elegant letterhead as well. Print your company name, and logo if it is elegant as well, at the top of the page in a pretty, scrolling font. However, don’t use a font that is too difficult to read. Add a line or other embellishment that looks classy as well, which can be found in the insert menu of most word processing documents.
Retro
-
A retro letterhead may be a better representation of your company if it matches your style. Use retro colors, such as orange and blue, and also retro shapes that remind you of the 1970s or 1980s. Different colored lines, paisley patterns, and flower patterns are popular choices for a retro look.
Tagline
-
Placing your tagline at the top of your page can communicate a bold message every time someone looks at it. The logo can be printed discreetly, across the top of the page, for a very simple look. If using this method, it is important to make sure the letterhead doesn’t look like a banner ad. Instead, make it look like a promise or a mission statement to really appeal to the reader.
