Uses for a Buf-Puf Sponge

If you are counting pennies, Buf-Puf sponges can be an extremely economical way to clean. Instead of tossing an old sponge out after using it for your face, save it to use around the house. Buf-Puf sponges are traditionally used in facial cleaning, but they can be used for cleaning a variety of other surfaces as well. Because Buf-Puf sponges are gentle enough to use on the face, they are ideal for removing dirt and scuff marks off of vinyl and other surfaces.

Wash Your Face

Wet your face and Buf-Puf sponge with warm water. Apply a small amount of facial cleanser to the sponge. Use your fingers to work the cleanser into the sponge to form a lather. Gently scrub your face with the soapy sponge, using small circular movements. Cleanse your entire face for about 60 seconds before rinsing thoroughly with warm water. Finally, rinse the Buf-Puf sponge under warm water until the water runs clear.

Clean Vinyl Surfaces

The rough surface of the sponge is perfect for removing dirt from the grooves of vinyl flooring or the uneven surface of a vinyl doll. Use a damp Buf-Puf to gently scrub away any dirt or scuff marks from the vinyl surface. Before using a Buf-Puf on a new surface, test the sponge on a small area of the vinyl to be sure it doesn't damage it. If the damp sponge alone does not remove the dirt, apply a small amount of all-purpose cleaner to the sponge and scrub the surface again.

Clean Other Surfaces

Buf-Puf sponges can be used on many other surfaces as well. The texture is perfect for the handles of kitchen appliances, car dashboards, plastic toys and outdoor furniture. Always test a small area of the surface with the sponge before cleaning to avoid damage. Use a wet Buf-Puf to remove any dirt. All-purpose cleaner can be added to remove tough stains.
