Finally gaining acknowledgment as an Olympic sport in 2008, bicycle motocross, also known as BMX, is a sport that can be played as either an individual or as a team. Some BMX participants in Ohio compete on an actual track and in highly organized races, while others may stroll around an area and maneuver across obstacles and ramps. Owned, operated and maintained by the Central Ohio Bicycle Racing Association, also known by the acronym of C.O.B.R.A., the BMX racing track at Heer Park is a family friendly environment for fans of the sport. Featuring regularly scheduled races from May to October, and beginner clinics held every race day, Heer Park truly does accommodate BMX fans of all skill levels.

Evolution Skatepark of Stark County

Open Tuesday through Sunday and located in Canton, Ohio, the Evolution Skatepark welcomes skateboarders and BMX riders alike at their indoor skatepark. Entry is $7 on weekdays and Sundays and $15 on Fridays and Saturdays. Helmets are required at the Evolution Skatepark and they must be worn by riders at all times. Rental helmets are available.

The Flow Skatepark

Open to BMX riders, skateboarders and inline skaters, The Flow Skatepark boasts over 40,000 square feet of indoor, freestyle space. Daily sessions at The Flow Skatepark cost $14 for non-members or $7 for members. Additionally, The Flow Skatepark can be rented out in three-hour increments for private parties and functions. Helmets are mandatory for all riders at The Flow Skatepark.

CHENGA World Brookpark

The only indoor skatepark in Cuyahoga County, Chenga World Brookpark is open to BMX riders, skateboarders and inline skaters. Four-month memberships can be purchased for $30, which allow the individual access to the skatepark for only $5 per session or $8 for an entire day. An on-site pro shop carries a full inventory of BMX and skateboarding accessories, including rental gear for riders who don't have their own. All riders at Chenga World Brookpark must be 8 years of age or older. Those who are under the age of 18 must have a signed, notarized waiver from a parent or legal guardian.
