International Anthropology Jobs
Anthropologists are social scientists who study human culture. This field encompasses all interaction between humans on a social level. Subfields of anthropology range from world systems, development, and education, to drug use, impacts of globalization, and beyond. Anthropology is highly amenable to international jobs. In fact, until recently, jobs in anthropology could only be pursued abroad. Today, international anthropology jobs are often found among government agencies, nonprofit organizations, multinational corporations, and research institutions.

Government Agencies
-
Governments around the world hire anthropologists to represent their country abroad. Commonly, anthropologists serve as a cultural attache or cultural diplomat, who promotes a positive image of his or her home country internationally. Because anthropology is such a wide field, an anthropologist may also work abroad in a number of other government positions which require language skills, cultural sensitivity, and other cultural knowledge.
Nonprofit Organizations
-
Nonprofit organizations are often active internationally. These organizations hire anthropologists as cultural brokers. A cultural broker serves as an advisor between the nonprofit organization and the local population.

Multinational Corporations
-
Corporations who operate abroad consult with anthropologists in order to avoid cultural miscues in their dealings with partners who have different cultural norms. Anthropologists also provide training on cultural sensitivity to employees of multinational corporations.
Research Institutions
-
Internationally accredited research institutions and universities frequently work with anthropologists internationally. Anthropologists may occupy jobs as professors or as full-time researchers.
