PGA Golf Management Schools
PGA Golf Management (PGM) Schools are four and one-half year academic programs that teach aspiring golf professionals the details of being successful in the golf industry. In addition, upon graduation each participant will have his chance to enter the golf industry and begin a career potentially full of success and satisfaction. There are 20 accredited PGA Golf Management Schools. The three most established programs are Ferris State University, Mississippi State University and New Mexico State University. Graduates have a 100 percent placement rate in addition to their PGA membership.

Ferris State University

Ferris State University has the oldest accredited PGA Golf Management Program in the United States. The program received its accreditation in 1975. The PGM at Ferris State University is part of the School of Business and is led by Matt Pinter, the PGM coordinator. He is also the director of the Ferris State golf course. PGM students at Ferris State are taught the skills needed to pass future PGA testing by Chris Pulver, the program assistant. Pulver is a Ferris State PGM graduate.

Mississippi State University

The PGM program at Mississippi State University (MSU) was accredited by the PGA in 1985. The program is part of the School of Business and is directed by Jeff Adkerson, a 1999 MSU PGM graduate. PGM students at MSU can practice their golf game at the top-rated Mississippi State University Golf Course, which was rated in the top 30 university owned golf courses in the United States. Each PGM student at MSU has access to a full Golf-Tec analysis center located in McCool Hall, home of the MSU School Of Business.

New Mexico State University

The PGM program at New Mexico State University (NMSU) was accredited by the PGA in 1987. The program is part of the School of Business and is led by Pat Gavin, the Director of the PGM at NMSU. Participants in the PGM at NMSU can hone their skills at the New Mexico State University Golf Course. This acclaimed university golf course has hosted NCAA Championships and Callaway Junior Series tournaments, among other prestigious events.
