Most Common Problems While Installing Windows XP
Windows XP, developed by Microsoft, is an operating system designed for the personal computer. Generally, when installing Windows XP, you follow the installation wizard until completion in a straight-forward process. However, different scenarios can cause installation errors. Error 307119

With this error, you receive no notification. The error causes your computer to lock up and crash after entering your user ID and password. The error only happens after upgrading to Windows XP from either Windows 98 Second Edition, or Windows ME, according to PC Mech, a website dedicated to technology. The solution, according to Microsoft, is simply to manually restart the computer. Supposedly, this is the long-term solution to this problem, and will fix the error over time if not right away.
Error 320397

With this error, you will receive the message "NTLDR is missing" after starting up your computer. The basis of this error is a bit more complex and has to do with the hard disk. When copying large files to a root folder, the master file table allocation index (MFT) stays the same size and causes disk issues, according to PC Mech. The solution to fixing this problem is obtaining the correct boot disks and diagnostic tools. The process of fixing this error may be lengthy and take several hours.

Error 307153

This error only occurs when you are upgrading from a previous version of Windows, such as Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows ME or Windows XP Home edition. The cause of this error is when Windows fails to delete old temporary files during the new installation. To solve this problem, you will have to change the name of the previous temporary file folder.
Error 310760

This error occurs during the setup process at the "Setup is Starting Windows" screen. Generally, the cause of this error is hardware incompatibility, most commonly from the motherboard BIOS or SATA hard drives.
Error 313041

This error happens when the "i386Win9xupgW95upg.dll" file fails to install properly over the previous operating system; namely Windows 98, Windows 98 Second edition or Windows ME. However, there are ways to work around this by installing the individual component manually.
