Visual Basic Computer Games
Programmers aren't the only ones who can have fun with Visual Basic, a programming language geared towards developers running a Microsoft-based operating system. The programs created by developers expand beyond databases and into the realm of games. You can download and play games created in Visual Basic to experience the fruits of the programmers' labor.

The Prodigious Escapee
-
You are given a set of tools that range from bombs to launching contraptions to break through walls and reach the exit of each level. As you set off explosions or cause events with the mouse, your escapee can make his way around obstacles without being running into enemies. "The Prodigious Escapee" features 80 stages to complete.
vbGore
-
For gamers who also know how to program in Visual Basic, "vbGore" gives programmers the tools to create an online role playing game in the same vein as "World of Warcraft." The game supports ten thousand players who can interact with one another and venture out on quests you create and control.

Toy Trouble
-
"Toy Trouble" shrinks the shooter genre down to miniature robot size. Gamers explore and do battle in seven rooms based on those found in a house such as a kitchen and garage. Four playable characters are available to choose from with each character facing off against enemies unique to their storyline. "Toy Trouble" also supports split screen mode for two players to compete using the same computer.
Gem Raiders
-
In "Gem Raiders," the goal is to defeat the enemy gems while keeping your own gems unharmed. The game is controlled with the arrow keys as you maneuver your character around 20 different arenas. You can choose to play on the Normal or Heavy difficulty level with the latter being more challenging.
Catch Me If You Can
-
Using the arrows on your keyboard, maneuver a basket back and forth on the bottom of the game screen to catch falling balls in "Catch Me If You Can." You score is tracked with high scores being saved to the game for later viewing. The game was created in Visual Basic 6.
Concentration Game
-
Click on two different cards to create matches in the "Concentration Game." After each turn, the computer is allowed a turn with the player who obtains the most matches being deemed the winner. The game will expire in 30 days as an example to Visual Basic programmers on the use of timed game content.
