Clerical jobs entail working in an office to fill a specific duty that it needs a person to do in order to run effectively. These clerical jobs range from assistants to mail room clerks to data entry careers and can be worked at on a part-time basis in some companies.

Data Entry

Data entry jobs may be one of the best clerical jobs to do on a part-time basis, as all that is often needed is the original documents that need to be entered into the computer and a computer itself. Some people are incredibly skilled at looking at original documents and entering them into a computer program in a speedy and efficient way. The other great thing about data entry jobs is that as long as the data is entered accurately, it can be done from just about anywhere. This means you could possibly do your data entry work from home.

Receptionist

Working as a receptionist can be a part-time job, as receptionists are often employed in morning and afternoon shifts at many large companies, as the job can become a bit exhausting over a full eight-hour day. This all depends on how companies employ receptionists. This job entails knowing how to operate a phone system in an effective way, transferring incoming calls and knowing all the extensions of the company's full-time employees.

Mail Room

Mail room workers perform a clerical job that may only be necessary in a part-time capacity, as the mail usually doesn't arrive at most businesses until the middle of the day. This means mail room workers only really need to be employed over the last half of the day. This job will entail properly sorting the mail, delivering it from office to office as well as signing for packages delivered to the company, or shipping out packages to the proper places on the company's shipping account.
