Minority Ph.D. Scholarships
According to the National Center of Educational Statistics (IES), only 23.9 percent of graduate students in 2007 were minorities (African-American, Hispanic, Asian/Pacific Islander or American Indian/Alaskan Native). Fortunately, this number has gradually accelerated over the years. To increase minority participation in graduate studies, many organizations, foundations and institutes provide these students with scholarship and fellowship opportunities.
