Colleges & Universities With ROTC Programs

Save

In 1926, the first six Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) were founded. Steadily growing through the post WWII era, ROTC programs now are offered on more than 1,000 college and university campuses across the United States. ROTC prepares young adults to become officers in the three branches of the U.S. military--the Army, the Navy including the Marines and the Air Force. Cadets commit to serve in the military after graduation in exchange for a paid college education and a guaranteed military career.

University of California, Berkeley

  • Among the oldest ROTC units in the country, the University of California at Berkeley offers three distinct military officers' commissioning programs: Air Force ROTC (AFROTC), Army ROTC (AROTC) and Naval ROTC (NROTC) within the Division of Undergraduate Studies and Interdisciplinary Studies (UGIS). The California Maritime Academy, University of California Davis and Stanford are affiliate ROTC programs. The program integrates military educational offerings into the regular university curricula. These include aerospace studies, which offers students the opportunity to qualify for a commission in the U.S. Air Force, naval sciences, which includes several programs that lead to commissions in the U.S. Navy or U.S. Marine Corps, and the Military Sciences Army Officer Education Program.
