English Masters Programs in Germany
Universities throughout Germany offer many masters programs taught in English. For native and non-native English speakers these programs provide the opportunity to study abroad without the added challenge of studying in German. Not all schools offer programs taught in English, and subjects vary from school to school.

The Freie Universitaet Berlin (or Free University Berlin) offers 15 master's programs in English. For example, the university's Institute for English Language and Literature has an M.A. program that takes approximately two years to complete and is taught entirely in English. The program focuses on studying and analyzing English texts and literature to improve students' spoken and written English as well as linguistic understanding. Students can specialize their program with eight different fields, including post-colonial studies and gender studies and theory. A 20,000-word thesis is required.

The University of Leipzig's M.A. in Global Studies - A European Perspective program brings together students from around the world to discuss and debate the effects of globalization on nations and the daily lives of individuals. This two-year master's program combines political science and cultural studies and offers students the chance to study at one of its many partner universities located throughout Europe and the world. Students must complete a research-based thesis to earn their degree. Most courses related to the program are taught in English, and students can take optional non-English courses.
