Ideas for Girl's Bedding

Bedding can reflect a girl's personality.

Your little girl is ready for a new look in her bedroom. You may be excited at the possibilities for decorating her room, but your ideas and hers may be different. When choosing bedding for your daughter's room, include her in the selection. Having an idea of preferred colors and patterns is helpful when you begin to shop as the options can be overwhelming.

Themed Bedding

Young girls choose favorite characters, fairies or princesses. When choosing this variety of bedding, keep in mind that children tend to develop new interests quickly and your daughter may want to replace her bedding frequently with the latest fad. Purchase pieces for the bedding set separately. For instance, buy a pink comforter and select Barbie or Disney Princess sheets or pillows to accessorize the room. The pink comforter can be used with other themes as your daughter's preferences change. Other options in themed bedding include Hello Kitty, Dora the Explorer and Fancy Nancy for the younger set, and Hannah Montana and High School Musical for slightly older girls.

Patterns

Another option for girls' bedding is to choose a basic pattern in colors she prefers. For example, find bedding in stripes, polka dots or plaids in a favorite color scheme. Mix and match patterns to create a distinctive look. One option is to select a striped comforter in pastel shades of pink, lavender and green. Older Girls
