Brugmansia Varieties
Brugmansia is a small, tropical, flowering tree highly desirable for its large, hanging, trumpet-shaped flowers. Commonly called "Angel's Trumpet", brugmansia plants feature flowers in shades of white, pink, yellow, red or orange, depending on the variety. Though beautiful, brugmansias are highly poisonous, so plant away from children and pets. Brugmansias bloom almost unceasingly, according to the University of Florida, and can reach a height of 14 feet with a width of 15 feet. Does this Spark an idea?

Yellow Angel's Trumpet

"Yellow Angel's Trumpet" brugmansia features large, 12 inch flowers, that change color to creamy white or pink as they mature, according to the University of North Carolina. This small variety of brugmansia, like most varieties, will not tolerate temperatures under 40 degrees Fahrenheit. For that reason, it is often grown in a container and brought indoors for the winter. While it may overwinter successfully indoors, it will also lose its leaves during that time.

"Dr. Seuss" is a sturdy, upright brugmansia that features true orange blooms. This variety is native to Colombia and was discovered by Hetty Krauss, for whom it was previously named.

Butterfly Pink

"Butterfly Pink" is so named for the soft pink color of the flowers of this variety of brugmansia. This type is a fast grower and has large, beautiful leaves. The flowers of "Butterfly Pink" are somewhat unusual in that they do not hang straight down, but rather at an angle.
Audrey Hepburn

"Audrey Hepburn" is a rare brugmansia hybridized in 2002. This variety features creamy-white flowers that are somewhat smaller than most types of brugmansias, but perfect in form. This plant blooms prolifically and has a pleasant fragrance.
Herrenhauser Garten

"Herrenhauser Garten" is somewhat difficult to grow in containers, but features huge, double-bloom flowers that are a showy shade between orange and red. This variety is named for the company, located in Germany, that developed the hybrid.
