Copier Technician Tools
Copier technicians are responsible for maintaining the proper operation of copy machines. Although a copy machine is a standard part of the office environment, proper operation of the machine is critical for duplicating records and providing hard copies of information. The copier technician is responsible for fixing these machines and ensuring they are in good working condition. In order to do their job quickly and effectively, a copier technician needs a number of tools in his or her arsenal.

Magnetized Screwdrivers
-
Screwdrivers are a requirement for copier technicians. The technician needs them to unscrew any bolts and screws required to get into the copier. Magnetized screwdrivers are usually the best type for this kind of job because they reduce the risk of screws falling into the machine. Both Phillips and flat-head screwdrivers are needed.
Magnetized nut driver
-
The magnetized nut driver helps in removing and tightening the hex-shaped nuts typically found on copiers.
-
Magnetizer
-
A magnetizer is needed for getting your screwdrivers magnetized again when they demagnetize.
Spring Hooks
-
The copier technician should have a spring hook and a captive spring hook. The regular spring hook helps to attach and also remove springs. The captive spring hook works for hard to reach springs and also for very small springs.
Flashlight
-
The copier technician needs to be able to see inside the copy machine, which can be very dark. This makes a flashlight or a cap with a light very important. If the technician uses a flashlight on a cap, then he has his or her hands free for working inside the copier.
Multimeter
-
A multimeter is needed to check the electrical output and flowing continuity of the lamps and the fuses in the copier. This can help the technician avoid bad adjustments and damage to the copier. (Reference 2)
