East Carolina University
The largest national university on North Carolina's east coast is East Carolina University. With over 27,000 students, this public research university is regarded for its strong programs in Education, Business, Environmental Health, Nursing and Medicine. Coastal Carolina Community College
Established mainly as a technical college, Coastal Carolina offers associate's degrees in Nursing, Criminal Justice, Office Administration and Surgical Technology. Since it is a community college, tuition is much more affordable than other state schools in North Carolina. Over 13,000 students attend the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. This public state university prides itself for its affordability.
