Doctors have the highest educational requirements of any profession, requiring four years of undergraduate school, four years of medical school, and three to eight years of internships and residencies. However, though salary varies according to specialty, doctors are among the highest-paid professions. The Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts that job demand will grow by 22 percent from 2008 to 2018, which is much faster than average for all professions.
