Chicken is a healthy meal for the family because it is high in lean protein, niacin and vitamin B. It is an inexpensive meal that does not require a lot of preparation. There are many ways to cook a chicken in the oven. Preparing chicken in the oven is one of the easiest, surefire ways to create a delicious family meal.
Mix olive oil, lemon and garlic together and brush on top of the chicken, then put it in the oven to roast for a Mediterranean flair. While the chicken is cooking, baste it a few times with the olive oil mixture to keep the chicken juicy. Garlic and lemon are staples of any Mediterranean diet because they add a complementary flavor to many foods.
Mix together soy sauce and ginger and brush it on top of the chicken before baking in the oven. You can also try soy sauce mixed with pineapple juice to create a sweet and sour chicken. Sesame oil mixed with soy sauce is another flavor to try with a baked chicken.
Curry powder sprinkled on top a chicken before baking will add a spicy flavor to the chicken. You can also mix coconut milk with curry and brush it on top of the chicken before it bakes to create a coconut chicken curry. Mix together coconut milk and mangoes and baste the chicken before it bakes for a tangy and creamy dish.
