  • A third option for Canadian students to pursue online courses and degrees is Thompson Rivers University (TRU). TRU is an open university like Athabasca University. The primary mission of the university is to provide distance education courses and degrees. Areas of study offered at TRU include health science, psychology, history, tourism management, general studies, sociology, English, commerce, technology and the fine arts. Master's degrees are offered online in the fields of education, social work, business administration and environmental science.
