Handmade Crafts With Champagne Glasses
Champagne glasses often denote a special occasion, a festive atmosphere and a time of celebration, making them a fitting decoration, souvenir or party favor for an event like an engagement party, wedding, birthday party or even a classy cocktail party. There are many ways to use champagne glasses creatively so don't be afraid to experiment and come up with your own ideas.
-
Gel Candles
-
Gel candles in a champagne or other cocktail glass are fun and easy to make and are suitable as an event souvenir or a take-home party favor. Gel candle kits are available at craft supply stores in many colors and scents. Gel candles can also be poured into glasses that have already been decorated in other ways.
Glass Charms
-
Wine glass charms don't have to be just for wine. Commonly used at parties so guests can identify and keep track of their own glass, they are also a possible gift or party favor. Use jewelry wire from a craft supply store and beads, purchased charms or pendants to make small, dangly charms that loop around the stem of the champagne glass. Use a hook and loop to fasten the loop around the stem so that they can be removed and reused.

Etching
-
Glass etching is much easier than it may sound. Purchase a kit that includes stencils and all the materials you need to make the project as fast and easy as possible. You can etch a pattern around the top of a champagne glass, an image on the side or even initials or a name.
Decals and Painting
-
You can paint your own designs on a champagne glass with acrylic paint. The paint must not be water-based or it will come off as soon as the glass gets wet. If you aren't comfortable or don't have the time to paint your designs freehand, use a stencil. You may also choose to purchase rub-on decals. These decals are very simple to use because you just place them on the glass and rub them with a craft stick to transfer the image.
