Ideas for Career Day for Lawyers
For a lawyers career day, host an event that's meaningful to the lawyers and fun at the same time. One idea is to sponsor an all-day mentoring event for lawyers where they can attend seminars, and listen to speakers discuss their careers, offer advice and answer questions. Another way of hosting this event is to pair each attendant with an established lawyer. Have them spend the day networking and having veteran lawyers review their resumes.

Alternative Career Day
-
Host an alternative career day event. Invite guests from such fields as politics, education, book publishing, social sciences and health care to speak about using their legal expertise in these fields. Allow employers set up information tables so attendees can bring resumes for review and ask questions.
Assistance for Recently Unemployed
-
Stage a career day for people who recently lost jobs within the legal profession. Include sessions on the state of the legal profession, what jobs are increasing in a particular market and ways these former workers can update skills to remain marketable. Set up computer kiosks so attendees can revise resumes and cover letters during the event.

Guidance for High School Students
-
Have lawyers and other legal profession workers meet with high school students for a one-day event to discuss job opportunities and the skills needed to enter the profession. Let students ask the guests questions following seminars. The guests could also have lunch with the students to talk about more specific issues regarding the legal profession.
