Lucille and Ricky Ricardo were one of the most famous television couples of the 1950s. Dress Lucy in a red wig, bright red lipstick, dark blue 1950s dress with white polka dots and white frilly apron. Ricky should have slicked back, dark hair, loose pants and a velvet smoking jacket. If you are with another couple, transform them into Ethel and Fred Mertz to complete the effect.
Anyone who ever watched the movie "Pretty Woman" will recognize Edward and Vivian. Edward is the quintessential businessman, dressed in a formal business suit and tie. Dress Vivian, played by Julia Roberts in the movie, in a blonde, shoulder length wig or long brunette curls, over-the-knee pleather boots, white sports bra and denim mini-skirt.

Take inventory of your favorite sports or hobbies, and incorporate them into your costume. Dress as a football player and his football, baseball and baseball bat, video screen and game controller or a surfer and his surfboard. Couples who are into tabletop games can be poker chips and a deck of cards, a chess king and queen, or Colonel Mustard and Professor Plum from Clue.
Dress one member of the couple up as a fisherman with a hat filled with fishing lures, hip boots and a plaid shirt. Purchase or make a fish costume for the other member. Tie a thin rope to a large pole with a large safety pin at the end of the rope, and attach the safety pin to the fish for a fisherman and his "catch of the day."

Mattel dolls Barbie and Ken are fairly easy to replicate in a costume. Use plenty of foundation makeup to ensure that your skin looks unblemished and almost artificial. Impeccable makeup, including blue eye shadow and pink lipstick, a blonde wig, high heels and a fitted dress complete the look for Barbie. Dress Ken in a suit, and use plenty of gel to slick back his hair and make it look plastic. Or go the Barbie beach route with a bikini for Barbie and Hawaiian swim trunks for Ken.
Probably the most well-known duo of modern times is peanut butter and jelly. Use large sheets of cardboard or poster board and roll them into a cylinder, large enough to fit around your body with roughly one foot to spare. Use staples, tape or glue to secure the cylinder. Attach straps inside the cylinder that will rest on your shoulders, holding the cylinder up around your body. Paint one cylinder to look like a jar of peanut butter and the other a jar of jelly.
