Brown Bedroom Paint Ideas
Brown is not a color most people automatically think of when trying to decide what color to paint a room. They may consider it to be too dark or too drab; however, when used properly, it's anything but dull. Brown can look attractive on the walls of a bedroom, basement, living room or any space. Does this Spark an idea?

One and Done
-
You don't have to use a plain, boring brown. You can find it in shades that incorporate other colors: red-brown, peach-brown, pink-brown, purple-brown and others. You can also use a very light, pale shade of brown. Using lighter colors on the walls makes spaces seem bigger. Using a plain brown on all walls is an option, but unless you're purposefully going for the dark look, balance it with white-, bright- or neutral-colored accents: bedding, curtains, throws, carpet and/or rugs, decorative pillows and even lampshades.
Mix and Match
-
Mix and match shades of brown. Instead of using the same shade of brown on all walls, paint color combinations in the brown family. Tone-on-tone color schemes look awesome. A lot of shades are available to choose from: taupe, tan, umber, coffee, bronze, mahogany, chocolate and many more. You can paint stripes, motifs, patterns, designs, alternating walls, polka dots---whatever strikes your fancy. And don't assume the ceiling will go unnoticed. Ceilings are an important part of the design of any room, so paint it as well.

Pretty Picture
-
Paint a mural with lots of brown. Murals are always an exciting idea. For your brown bedroom, use a mural on all walls or only an accent wall that prominently features the color. Paint a southwestern desert scape at dusk with pueblos, mesas and expanses of sand; a nature scene featuring animals such as bears, horses or deer; a collection of birds with brown plumage: sparrows, wrens, finches and chickadees; cowboys leading a herd of cattle; or trees in autumn with brown and reddish-brown and brownish-gold leaves.
