Online Schools That Offer Medical Transcription
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts that job opportunities for medical transcriptionists will be good, and that those who complete post-secondary education or training will find higher demand for their services. Medical transcriptionists transcribe physician recordings into documents and records. They work in hospitals, doctors' offices and at home. Classes may include keyboarding, health care law and ethics, medical coding, medical terminology and other areas. Medical transcriptionists can be registered or certified, credentials which are awarded by the Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity (AHDI). AHDI also provides accreditation for medical transcription programs through the Approval Committee for Certificate Programs (ACCP).
