How to Become a Cosmetology Instructor in Georgia

A cosmetology instructor teaches students in the subject of cosmetology, which is the study of makeup and other beauty treatments. There are 674 cosmetology instructors working in the state of Georgia as of 2011. To become licensed as an instructor of cosmetology, an individual must submit their application for certification to the Georgia Board of Cosmetology. A person must have earned their master cosmetology license in Georgia before applying as a cosmetology instructor.

Register for a course of study at a school for cosmetology instructors. Complete the application for your cosmetology instructor license and submit it to the Georgia Board of Cosmetology for processing. It must be submitted with a copy of your master cosmetology license, proof of high school graduation and a course completion certificate from the cosmetology school.
