Elementary Children Peace Craft & Activity Ideas
Teaching peace to children helps instill in them a sense of compassion, understanding and love to the world around them. When children learn to have peace in their lives, and to act in a peaceful way to others, it can help create a better world for everyone. One way to teach young ones peace is through crafts.

Peace Sign Pumpkin
-
Place a paper plate over a pumpkin and trace the outline with a pencil. Paint the outline with acrylic paint to create a circle. Paint the area outside of the circle with a solid color. Inside the circle, paint a peace sign. Wait for all of the paint to dry completely. Use glitter glue, sequins and plastic gem stones to decorate the peace pumpkin.
Dove Ornament
-
Cut out an oval and a triangle from white construction paper. Fold two 3-by-5-inch pieces of paper back and forth in an accordion pattern. Cut a slit in the middle of the oval, and slide one of the folded papers into it. Open the folded paper so that the folds show. This creates the wings of the peace dove. Glue the end of the second folded paper to the end of the oval and open up the folds. This is the tail of the dove. Glue the triangle to the opposite end of the oval from the tail. Use a single-hole punch to poke out a hole at the top of the peace dove. String a piece of yarn or twine through the hole and hang the peace dove in your house.

Handprint Flower
-
Trace four handprints onto construction paper: one each on pin paper, tan paper, brown paper and black paper. Cut out the handprints. Cut a narrow rectangle and two leaf shapes from green construction paper. Glue the leaf shapes to the rectangle. This is the stem of the peace flower. Glue the handprints to the stem.
