Craft Ideas With Kids: Footprints
Children love to make crafts with their hands and feet. By using their footprints, for example, you can create a variety of enchanting craft projects for any time of year. Everything needed to create these craft projects can be found at any art supply store.

Footprint Tree
-
A footprint tree can be created by children to celebrate the fall season. Help a child draw six to eight footprints onto red, orange, yellow and green construction paper. Cut out the footprint shapes with scissors. Cut out a rectangle from brown construction paper to use as a tree. Glue the brown rectangle to a piece of white printing paper. Glue the footprints around the tree to symbolize leaves.
Footprint Casting
-
Making a footprint casting is a fun way to capture the 3-D image of your child's foot. Fill a bucket with sand, and pour in enough water for it to be damp and packable. Help your child step in and out of the bucket, effectively creating a footprint in the sand. Pour enough plaster of Paris into the bucket to just cover the footprint. Wait until the plaster of Paris sets; then remove it from the sand to reveal your child's footprint casting.

Footprint Peacock
-
When learning about animals and zoo life, it can be fun to create a foot print peacock with your child. Help your child draw four to six footprints onto blue, green and purple construction paper. Draw one footprint out of brown construction paper. Cut out the shapes with scissors. Glue the heels of the blue, green and purple footprints to the toes of the brown footprint. Turn the entire craft over, and draw a beak and two eyes on the heel of the brown footprint. Your child can now play with the finished footprint peacock.
