Venice is located in Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana, about 80 miles from New Orleans. It is situated where the Mississippi Delta pours into the Gulf of Mexico. Venice is known for its wide variety of fishing, both saltwater and freshwater, and is a destination for sports fishing. It is also known as the "fishing capital of the world," home to commercial shrimpers, oyster farms and tuna fishing.

      The Saltgrass Lodge is reminiscent of a Southern plantation-style home overlooking the Mississippi River delta. Accommodations are well appointed with Jacuzzi tubs and offer Southern charm with views of the river or the delta. All guest rooms are suites and the Crow's Nest suite occupies the entire fourth floor and is suitable for families. There are three other spacious accommodations--La Petite, Captains Quarters and Mint Julep, all with wrap-around porches with rocking chairs. All guest rooms have two double or queen beds and the configuration can be altered to suit any party. Accommodations include all meals and the cuisine features Creole Cajun-style cooking. A variety of sports activities are offered including offshore fishing for yellow fin tuna and blue marlin; bayou kayaking for wildlife viewing; and marshland tours where alligator and dolphins are often sighted.

      Located near the end of Highway 80 near the Mississippi River Delta, the Venice Inn offers a variety of rooms including two-bedroom suites. All accommodations feature refrigerators, microwaves, coffee pots and Internet access. The inn will also accommodate guests who bring their boats. The Riverside Restaurant is within walking distance and specializes in Cajun/Creole food. The house specialty is shrimp stew.

      The Fin and Feather offers lodges and cabins. Lodges include full kitchens, washer/dryers, granite bars, flat-screen televisions, screened patios with outdoor furniture and deep freezers for storing your catch. The largest lodge includes a game room with a billiard table, foosball, card table and business center with a computer and entertainment room. Cabins can accommodate two to four people and feature full kitchens, washer/dryers, flat-screen televisions and screened porches. All accommodations include high-speed Internet. Fin and Feather specializes in saltwater charters, both inland and offshore in the Gulf of Mexico. Inland fishing includes trout, Louisiana redfish and black drum. Offshore adventures are daily or overnight adventures for tuna, swordfish, mahi-mahi or white marlin.
