Yosemite National Park is one of the U.S.'s oldest national parks, covers approximately 1200 square miles, and is best known for its many waterfalls. Besides the scenery, visitors to Yosemite can also enjoy hiking, biking, horseback riding, backpacking, rock climbing, swimming, rafting, skiing and snowshoeing. Visitors have a variety of accommodation options in Yosemite, including camping and renting a cabin.

  1. Sunset Inn Yosemite Cabins

    • Sunset Inn Yosemite Cabins has three cabins available for visitors. These cabins are at about 4,500 feet of elevation, and located so as to be far from the crowds, but still close to many of Yosemite's activities and trails. Some cabin amenities include a full kitchen in all three cabins, pots, pans, and utensils provided. The cabins also come equipped with a dining area, a living area, full private bathrooms, high speed wireless Internet access, charcoal barbecues, and all cabins either have a large deck or a sun porch. Heating is provided by propane heaters, and two cabins also have wood burning stoves, while one also has a gas parlor stove.

    Yosemite National Park

    • Yosemite has a total of 14 campgrounds located throughout the park, four of which are open all year round. Ten of these campgrounds can accommodate R/Vs and various lengths of trailers, with the maximum lengths being 40 feet for R/Vs, and 35 feet for trailers. No R/V hookups are available at any of Yosemite's campgrounds, and only three campgrounds have dump stations. Backcountry camping is allowed at six of Yosemite's campgrounds; Little Yosemite Valley, Glen Aulin, May Lake, Sunrise, Merced Lake, and Vogelsang. Wilderness permits are required for backcountry camping at all of these campgrounds. Seven of Yosemite's campgrounds are on a first come first served basis, and usually fill up by noon. The other seven are by reservation only, and reservations should be made well ahead of time.
