Fun Birthday Crafts
Children love to celebrate birthday parties. Some of the best parts of a birthday party are the exciting birthday activities and crafts. When planning a child's birthday party, it is helpful to know a few of the many tried and true birthday crafts that will keep the guests entertained and having fun.
-
Painting Rocks
-
Children love to paint, and painting rocks is one way to save money while presenting an enjoyable painting activity to the children. Collect small, smooth rocks that can be held and painted easily by children. Set out a variety of tempera or acrylic paint colors, along with cups of water and paint brushes. The children can paint the rocks into animals, flowers, or they can create a beautiful abstract design.
Stringing Beaded Necklaces
-
Stringing beads is not only an exciting birthday activity, but can help improve fine motor skills in children. To present a beaded necklace craft, you can set out bowls of beads in different colors, sizes and shapes. Place thin twine, embroidery thread or nylon string on the table for the children to use for their bead stringing. When the children are finished, they can wear their creations or give them to family or friends as gifts.

Gum Drop Creatures
-
Gum drop creatures are fun to make, and fun to eat as well. Children can create animals, insects, people or mythological creatures using gum drops and toothpicks. Place bowls of spiced or fruit-flavored gum drops in bowls, and set out wooden toothpicks. The children can poke the toothpicks into the gum drops, effectively creating their own gum drop creatures.
