Halloween Cupcake Ideas for Kindergarteners
Cupcakes make a good treat for kindergarten Halloween parties. They're easier for young children to eat and are equally fun to decorate with an assortment of creepy creatures. Parents can either make a large batch of decorated cupcakes at home or bring frosted cupcakes and all the decorating materials so the kindergarteners can decorate their own Halloween cupcakes. Does this Spark an idea?

Bat Cupcakes
-
In this cupcake idea from Better Homes and Gardens, spooky bats perch on top of iced cupcakes of any color. The bats' wings are each made out of half of a chocolate cookie and its head is made from a chocolate candy. The children can use tubes of green icing to put details on the bats such as eyes and scalloped wings.
Eyeball Cupcakes
-
Eyeball cupcakes are especially creepy when placed together on a platter, but kindergarteners will also enjoy holding them up on their foreheads in an effort to scare each other. As Wilton.com suggests, each eyeball cupcake should have a large colored circle of candy or frosting in the center and a smaller black circle of candy or frosting on top of that. Thin red licorice or icing can be used to give the eyeball cupcakes a bloodshot look.

Wormy Cupcakes
-
Kindergarteners can easily decorate their own Halloween cupcakes with a variety of worms on top as Disney's Family Fun magazine suggests. Some ideas include gummy worms, dry chow mein noodles coated in orange-colored white chocolate and strips of colored licorice. To simulate a background of dirt for the worms, the kids can use crumbled chocolate cookies.
Goblin Cupcakes
-
Another simple cupcake for kindergarteners to help make themselves is a goblin cupcake. Better Homes and Gardens recommends using colored strips of licorice whips for the goblin's hair, big sour gummy rings for the eyes, chocolate chips for the pupils and jelly beans for the nose. You can cut miniature marshmallows in half diagonally so they resemble teeth. Allow each child to exercise his creativity when decorating their Halloween goblin.
Spider Cupcakes
-
Although you can opt for something simple such as creating a spider web and small spider on a cupcake with black icing, kindergarteners will love a cupcake topped with a giant daddy longlegs. Disney's Family Fun Magazine recommends bending eight black licorice whips in half and inserting them around the perimeter of the cupcake so they curve down like spider legs. The children use chocolate sprinkles to create a hairy body and any type of candy can be used to create the eyes of the spider.
