Egypt Air was established in 1932 and is part of the Star Alliance Network, the largest airline alliance in the world. Egypt Air is based in North Africa and the Middle East and is the only airline in that area to be part of the network. Egypt Air offers economy class with several price points -- Best Offer, Good Deal and Fully Flex -- as well as business and first classes.

International Routes: Economy Class

For all economy classes on international flights, one carry-on piece is allowed with a maximum weight of 17 pounds (8 kilograms). Checked luggage must not weigh more than 50 pounds (23 kilograms) per piece, with maximum linear dimensions of 62 inches (158 centimeters ). Two checked pieces are allowed for economy ticket-holders.

International Routes: Business and First Class

The maximum weight for checked pieces in first or business class is 70 pounds (32 kilograms) each and two pieces are allowed. The maximum dimensions for checked is 62 inches (158 centimeters). These ticket holders may bring two carry-on items with a maximum weight of 17 pounds (8 kilograms) each.

Domestic Routes: Economy Class

Both adult and children passengers traveling on domestic routes with Egypt Air may bring one piece of checked luggage weighing no more than 50 pounds (23 kilograms) and no larger than 62 inches (158 centimeters). One carry-on piece with a maximum weight of 17 pounds (8 kilograms) is allowed.

Domestic Routes: Business and First Class

Both adult and children flying business and first class may bring two carry-on pieces with a maximum weight of 17 pounds (8 kilograms) each. One checked piece is allowed, with a maximum weight of 70 pounds (32 kilograms) and maximum dimensions of 62 inches (158 centimeters).

Infant Passengers

All infant passengers not going to or from the U.S. or Canada, regardless of class, may have one piece of checked luggage with a maximum weight of 22 pounds (10 kilograms) and maximum dimensions of 45 inches (115 centimeters). Parents may also bring one fold-up collapsible stroller. For infant passengers going to or from the U.S. or Canada, regardless of class, the policy is the same except that the one checked piece may weigh up to 50 pounds (23 kilograms).

Additional Information

If your luggage is larger or heavier than the maximum allowed amount, you will be charged for excess baggage. Checked baggage may never exceed 70 pounds (32 kilograms) per piece, and if it cannot be repacked to comply with this requirement, then the piece must be shipped. Some flights booked through Egypt Air may be operated by a different carrier since Egypt Air partners with so many other airlines. If this is the case, the baggage allowance with the partner airline may be different from what is allowed by Egypt Air.
