Swing Seat
-
With very little effort, a wooden swing seat can be made in no time. A swing seat is a simple woodworking project that, once completed, can provide hours of pleasure. With just a 1-by-6-by-16-inch piece of pine, a drill and enamel or varnish in tow, all you need to do is drill a couple of holes near the edge for the rope or chain. Then leave it unfinished or apply a coat of varnish or enamel.
Broom Holder
-
A screwdriver is essential to any woodworking project. As its name indicates, a broom holder can be an ideal fixture to house a broom. This simple project can be completed with a couple of pieces of 1-by-4-by-10-inch white pine and some wood screws. All that's needed is to cut a hole big enough to house the broom handle in the center of one wood piece and attach it to the other to form an L-shape, securing it with the wood screws. Then attach the other wood piece to the wall with wood screws.

Door Stop
-
A door stop is an easy project that takes very little supplies. All you need are one 2-by-4-by-8-inch piece of white pine, one 1-by-3-by-5-inch piece of white pine and four screws. The project is made by cutting a notch the width of one wood piece into the other, so the first piece will sit snugly at a perpendicular angle. Then cut the second piece of pine at a slope, forming a triangle. Finally, connect the two pieces like a puzzle and secure with wood screws for a small project that's great for beginners.
