College of Tourism and Hotel Management

The College of Tourism and Hotel Management (COTHM) is an academic partner of the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA), an international organization that deals with hospitality education, training and professional certification worldwide. COTHM offers a two-year diploma course in hotel management. To apply, a high school diploma is required. The course includes four semesters of instructional education and a six-month internship. It introduces students to the concept of hospitality, accommodation and management of food and beverage operations, and also offers them insight into the tourism business. Future professionals also can complete a Higher Management diploma in three years. This advanced course gives students a broader perspective to manage, design and develop a facility. It features courses like club management, hospitality facilities design and resort development.

Pak-Austrian Institute of Tourism & Hotel Management (PAITHOM)

PAITHOM is a unique collaboration between the governments of Pakistan and Austria that was launched to facilitate tourism. PAITHOM offers diploma and certification programs in hotel management. Anyone between the ages of 18 and 35 can apply, but the minimum qualification is a high school diploma. The training includes facets of hospitality and trains students in front office management, food service, food production and housekeeping. Students earn a monthly allowance during the training period.

Pakistan Institute of Tourism & Hotel Management (PITHM)

Started in 1967 with the object of training cooks and waiters, the Pakistan Institute of Tourism & Hotel Management (PITHM) now offers diploma courses in food production, as well as hotel, front office and housekeeping management. The duration of the hotel management course is 18 months, and it trains individuals in modern-day communication skills, human resources management, finances, business and sales and marketing. An intermediate degree is required to apply. The institute provides flexible schedules for individuals who wish to change their career and pursue the training along with their current job.
