Greenbrier State Forest is a 13-minute drive northwest of Lewisburg, West Virginia. The more than 5,100 acres are laced with lush evergreens and mountainous terrain. Twelve cabins are available for lodging beginning on the second Friday in April until October 31. Two- and one-bedroom cabins have fully-appointed kitchens, bathrooms with showers, wood-burning fireplaces, microwaves, coffee makers, and towels and linens are provided. Several cabins are pet friendly and accept both cats and dogs. Greenbrier offers visitors a heated swimming pool, children's wading pool, 13 miles of hiking and bike trails, playground, rifle range, volleyball and picnic areas with fireplaces, shelters, tables and drinking water. A West Virgina hunting and fishing license is required to hunt and or fish.

The Swift Level

The Swift Level is a working farm dedicated to horse and cattle breeding located three miles from historic Lewisburg, West Virginia. The Swift Level was once surveyed by George Washington and is the location of the first battle of the Revolutionary War. Lodging is offered in historic cabins, a bunkhouse and main house. The James Wylie House is a historic bed and breakfast mansion with log cabin and is located 14 minutes west of Lewisburg in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.
